According to its own statements, Vossko suffered a cyberattack on November 14. The perpetrators had encrypted the food manufacturer’s systems. Production therefore had to be temporarily stopped.
The company, headquartered in Ostbevern, specialises in ready-to-eat products with poultry, beef and pork as well as vegetarian and vegan items. Its customers include well-known companies such as Edeka, Aldi, Iglo and Wagner.
Since the incident, the internal IT department and several external specialists have been working to get the situation back under control, it says. The responsible investigative authorities had also been consulted. According to the food producer, however, the affected systems and production are now functional again.
“We have done everything we can to regain access to our systems as quickly as possible,” emphasizes the management. In the course of the restoration and resumption of production, all internal systems will be continuously checked and monitored to ensure complete security, it continues. At the same time, all necessary measures and investments would be taken to secure the IT infrastructure even better in the long term and prevent future attacks.
